Many times I have conversations with patients about sesamoid fractures. What are the ways of treatment. I explain we can give it 6-8 weeks and see if it heals, we can try a bone stimulator or we can remove the sesamoid.
Sometimes removal is the fastest and quickest way to get back into action. When it is removed it takes about 2 weeks and the sutures are removed and you can get back to activity. Something to consider if you live in Worcester and have a broken sesamoid bone.
