One of the most important tips for any new diabetics is to check your feet daily. If you can do that one thing you can probably reduce likelyhood of developing a sore or amputation of your foot. During this recently talk at the Auburn Senior Center I performed an actual diabetic foot exam. This involves looking at your bone sturcture, skin evaluation, nerve evaluation, blood flow evaluation and shoe evaluation.

If you want to learn more about all the items involved in a comprehensive diabetic exam (CDFE) you can request the healthcare guide to diabetes and your feet. It can be found on the link on this website.
